Till Then

We have been saying goodbye to Grandma for many years. This morning, we whispered our final "till then."

Woven throughout this tapestry of sadness are the golden threads of gratefulness and hope. Gratefulness that Jesus has faithfully walked beside Grandma each step of the way. And hope ~ hope because Jesus calls himself not only Shepherd, but also Resurrection and Life.

John described the promised Life-To-Come in this way:

"I saw Heaven and earth new-created.
Gone the first Heaven, gone the first earth, gone the sea.
I saw Holy Jerusalem, new-created,
descending resplendent out of Heaven,
as ready for God as a bride for her husband.

I heard a voice thunder from the Throne:

'Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood,
making his home with men and women!
They're his people, he's their God.

He'll wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death is gone for good—
tears gone, crying gone, pain gone—
all the first order of things gone.'
The Enthroned continued,
'Look! I'm making everything new.'"
~Revelation 21.1-5 (The Message)

We grieve today...and rejoice to have such an amazing "till then."  May it be so.

"I have carried you since you left your mother’s womb.
I carried you when you were born,
and I will still be carrying you when you are old.
Your hair will turn gray, and I will still carry you.
I made you, and I will carry you to safety."
